the trade
One family photo session is worth about one hunting weekend, two rounds of golf, or one garage you don't have to clean. Exchange rates vary by household.

Do you want to go golfing?
Nobody complains about the back nine when you're the guy who booked the family photos. One evening now buys a lot of Saturdays later.
Book the photos. Then book the tee time.
Want to watch the game in peace?
Sessions are in the evening light, so you'll be back on the couch with the remote before anyone asks you to fold laundry.

Happy wife, free weekend. That's just math.
Have someone else do it.
She's the one holding the phone at every birthday and every lake day. Your best work so far is one blurry photo with your thumb in the corner. We both know it.
Hand the camera to me. I photograph the whole family together and make sure she's in the frame with the kids. You get all the credit. I won't say a word.
Book the dang thinghow the surprise works
Tell me it's a surprise and roughly when you're thinking. I'm a vault.
Fill out the booking form, send me the text it writes, and pay the $100 deposit. It goes toward your session. That was the hard part.
Break the news and enjoy your hero moment. She'll pick the outfits. You'll wear what she picks.
Don't know her schedule? Nobody does. Get a gift card instead and let her choose the day. Ask me when you text.
dad questions
"I hate getting my picture taken."
No forced smiles. No "say cheese." Give me 10 minutes. Once you're chasing a kid or tossing one in the air, you forget I'm there.
"I don't know what to wear."
She already picked it. If you want to fight her on it, text me a photo of the options. I'll probably side with her.
"How long does this take?"
About an hour. That's shorter than a Vikings game and a lot less stressful. I don't watch the clock, so nobody rushes the kids.
"What if the kids melt down?"
They might. They’re kids. We don’t force it, and if the day just isn’t working, we pick a new one.
"Where do we even go?"
I choose the location and the time so the light does the heavy lifting. Your only job is finding parking.
"What if it rains?"
We pick a new date and your deposit moves with you. Bonus: your afternoon is free again.

Can't decide? Book Your Story, the family session. It's the one she's been dropping hints about since July.

The big one. Everyone in the photos, including you.

The quick one. For dads with a tee time.

The Christmas card, handled. You're welcome.
A $100 deposit holds your date and goes toward your session. Gift cards never expire.
