Includes up to 7 people, and dogs count (and are welcome). Bringing the grandparents and cousins? Extended family (8 to 12 people) is a flat +$100. Christmas sessions run on the hour, back to back, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early.

FOR THE YEARS THAT GO TOO FAST

Nobody tells you how fast the sweet, loud, sticky years turn into the ones you miss. My sessions are lightly guided and a lot of fun. I give just enough direction to get everyone close, then let the giggles, tickle fights and in-between moments take over. There’s no time limit, so nobody’s rushing. We keep going until we both feel like we got it. No stiff rows. No “say cheese.” Just your people, being your people, in the last good light of the day.

“BUT WHAT IF…”

“My kids won’t cooperate.”

THEY DON’T HAVE TO

I don’t need them to sit still or smile on cue. We play, walk and race to the water, and I photograph what happens. If the day just isn’t working, we pick a new one.

“What if we run out of time?”

THE NO-CLOCK RULE

Time limits stress everybody out, and that’s not why we’re there. Most sessions run about an hour, but I don’t watch the clock. Have a hard stop? Just tell me. (Christmas and studio sessions have set times, with plenty of room.)

“I hate how I look in photos.”

I’LL POSE YOU

I guide every pose so you never wonder what to do with your hands. You’ll be holding your kids, which is when everyone looks most like themselves.

“My husband will hate it.”

Give me 10 minutes. Dads loosen up once they’re chasing a kid instead of standing in a row.

I spent years behind the camera at every birthday and lake day, and almost never in the picture. Keep These Days is the session I wish someone had booked for me. I photograph families around Lake Minnetonka, from Excelsior and Wayzata to Minnetonka and Chanhassen, and I make sure mom ends up in the photos too.

Expect snacks, piggyback rides and zero pressure to look at the camera. I don’t watch the clock. If your toddler melts down, we don’t force it. We keep going until we both feel like we got it.

NO CLOCK. No “next pose.”

When it was time for our own family photos, I chose our photographer for one reason: there was no time limit. Nobody saying “okay, on to the next, on to the next pose.” I felt so much more at ease, and we shot until we both felt like we got it.

That’s how I run every session. Time limits stress everybody out, and that’s not why we’re there. We’re after the same thing: photos you love, that I love, and that we made together.

How do I book?

Fill out the short form below or text me. I’ll reply within a few hours with open times. A $100 deposit holds your date and goes toward your session.

How long is a session?

I don’t do time limits, because time limits stress everybody out, and that’s not why we’re there. We’re both after the same thing: amazing photos that you love, that I love, and that we made together. A clock just rushes it. Most family sessions run about an hour. If you have a hard stop, let me know and we’ll plan around it. Otherwise, I don’t watch the clock. Mini Memories are the exception: a shorter session, built for busy families. Special sessions, like Christmas at the tree farm or studio shoots, are booked in set time slots, and each one has plenty of time built in.

What if we need to cancel?

Weather or an emergency? Your deposit moves to a new date. Otherwise the $100 deposit is non-refundable, since it holds that time just for you.

Where are sessions?

Parks and shorelines around Lake Minnetonka. I’ll suggest the best spot for your family and the season. Christmas sessions are at a Christmas tree farm, and I’ll text you the details.

How old should my kids be?

Any age. Toddlers are my favorite chaos.

Can I give a session as a gift?

Yes, and it’s the gift Grandma actually wants. Gift cards are right here, and they never expire.

When will I get my photos?

Your full private gallery arrives within two weeks, ready to download, print and share.
